The National Exchange Club held a ceremony to honor distinguished leaders of Exchange on Saturday, October 22nd, at 5:00 pm at the National Headquarters in Toledo, OH. Exchange has over 700 Clubs and nearly 21,000 members across the country.
As America’s oldest strictly American service club, Exchange selected the 2011 National Service Day to honor four members for their lifetime of achievements and leadership in Exchange. Members from across the country gathered to honor Doris E. Ash of Greenville, South Carolina, Ralph. J Carlson, Taylorsville, Utah, Steven Douglas, West Chester, Pennsylvania, and Allan S. Livingston (posthumously), also of West Chester, PA.
The names of these extraordinary members have been inscribed on 8’ granite pylons in the Court of Honor, a beautiful courtyard designed to be a serene place of honor located at the National Headquarters. Their names join over 80 fellow Exchangites who have been honored in years past beginning in over 50 years ago. An unveiling was held during the ceremony.
