Dear Dad (and NSA)

I was about to email my dad, you know a private email, just to see how he was doing and ask what he wants for Fathers Day.  Then I started thinking, maybe it would be easier on the NSA if I just posted it here.  Maybe that would save them a few steps, therefore a little bit in payroll this week, and therefore, a bit of tax money, you know... the tax money I pay.  So, if I just start posting all of my emails here, then maybe I'll save a bunch on my tax bill!?   

I just don't understand how spying on my phone calls and emails is anything other than an unreasonable search of my personal property, and therefore, in direct violation of The Fourth Amendment.

I also do not understand how someone like Sen. Graham can be so opposed to universal background checks because he is terrified that the Government will then have a list of everyone who has a gun, and then turn around and be totally okay with the Government knowing who he is calling and emailing.  That defies logic.  

What do they teach in Current Affairs now?  That it is apparently perfectly legal for the President of the United States to launch drone strikes on US Citizens without a courts permission? That it is perfectly legal for the NSA to tap into your emails, phone calls, and god only knows what else, also without a courts permission.  But it is just crazy to think we would question anyone wanting to purchase a gun in The United States... because, you know... the Constitution says something about being able to maintain a well regulated militia.. and somehow a well regulated militia now includes Uncle Tim Bob who may or may not be Bi-Polar... even though his medications may or may not be well regulated? 

I just don't understand how The Second Amendment trumps ALL OTHER Amendments... well... I guess it does have a gun and the others are unarmed?  I also do not understand how sane people can be so scared that Obama wants to take their guns, even though he has done LESS about gun control than Bush did, but those same people can give up every other liberty to attempt to prevent a terrorist attack.  

In the previous 40 years roughly 5,586 people were killed in terrorist attacks against the United States or its interests abroad. By comparison, about 30,000 people were killed by guns in the United States every year between 1986 and 2010. This means that about five times as many Americans are killed every year by guns than have been killed in terrorist attacks since Richard Nixon took office. Think about that... today roughly 90-100 people died on the wrong end of a gun... not a single American died in a terrorist attack today.. or this week.. or month that I'm aware of. 

...but... you know...read our emails, listen to our phone calls... and put drones in the air, all because you saw you want to protect American's from terrorist.... although I think the NSA or my crazy neighbor with a gun is way more of a threat to me than any terrorist.
