City Council Recap - Road Improvements Set for Mauldin
Final meeting of the calendar year

The highlight of Mauldinβs City Council meeting came at its end, when councilman Gabe Hunter made presentations to James Kennedy, Michael Reynolds and outgoing Mayor Don Godbey.
Before the presentation, approved a few key measures during a session that combined regular committee meetings with meetings of the committee of the whole.
The most notable item on the docket was a unanimously approved measure that will allow 23 roads in the city to be resurfaced. Those roads are:

- A 450β section of Geneva Court extending from International Court to the end of the cul de sacΒ
- A 1028β section of Apple Blossom Lane between Bethel Road and Balcome Boulevard.
- A 584β section of Bluestone Court from Adams Mill Road to the end of the cul de sac.
- A 1215β section of International Court from Old Mill Road to the end of the cul de sac.
- A 1063β section of Drury Lane to the end of the cul de sac.
- A 628β section of Hollibrook Court from Brooks Road to the end of the cul de sac.

Funding for the project became available through a combination of a surplus dollars and grant money. Total cost for the project is $526,573. Of that $126,573 will come from city funds with the remaining $400,000 coming from the Greenville Legislative Delegation Transportation Committee.

- The council unanimously passed a motion that would allot the City of Simpsonville 11 seats on a bus that transports inmate laborers to Mauldin who perform work with the Public Works Department. Simpsonville must approve the plan before it goes into effect.
