Amid the Ice, Sol Junky Brings the Heat

Despite the weather, the opening show of Mauldin Cultural Center's 2013 concert season begins tonight.

Baby, it's cold outside. But, unless things get really hairy, the show will go on tonight at the Mauldin Cultural Center.

The Sol Junky concert scheduled for tonight will go on as scheduled, said MCC executive director George McLeer.

The doors open at 7 p.m. and the music starts at 7:30 p.m. A donation is required for entry. For tickets and information, please visit the MCC website. The Mauldin Cultural Center is located at 101 East Butler Road in Mauldin.

Sol Junky is an Atlanta-based band known for their high-energy live performances — a perfect way to heat up a chilly night.

"Their music represents a mix of cross-fusion, providing an amazing ability to connect with all audiences," McLeer said. "This line up overflows with talent. You never know what to expect at a Sol Junky show; instruments like beer kegs or a flute, banjo or mandolin. Maybe a parade through the crowd playing Sol Junky bluegrass style. Whatever they do, they will have you on a journey of great friends, good times, and great music."

Sol Junky has had the privilege of opening and or playing with the Zac Brown Band, Guster, Rusted Root, Jupiter Coyote, G Love and Special Sauce, The Wood Brothers, The Dirty Dozen Brass band, Drivin N Cryin, Sister Hazel, Jimmy Hall, Tommy Crain, Tommy Talton, Charlie Daniels Band, Randall Bramblett, Rehab, Sonia Leigh, Coy Bowls, Brantly Gilbert, Mothers Finest, and many others, McLeer said.
