Terrible. Horrible. Insanely bad. Never going back. Food: mediocire at best. Service: so unspeakably bad. Let me elaborate.

We go out to dinner on Thursdays. Our kids are young (16 months and 3 years). We know they can be loud, thus we go out on Thursday instead of Friday. Tonight the brilliant hostess at Lieu's seated our obviously young family next to the largely overweight, single, simple, I nebber-attracted-a-woman-and-spread-my-seed guy. That's cool, you've let yourself go, you're here at a restaurant, looking for a dinner you can eat in complete silence. Wait, why did you go out to eat instead of eating in your desolate house??? Still not sure. Skip to tonight...
My 2 kids, my husband, me. Enjoying dinner. I put on a dress. I shaved my legs. We don't get out often. I kinda liked the food at Lieu's. I thought we were doing great tonight. The server said we had the "cutest family she'd ever seen." I thought she was stretching it, but thanked her. The kids did eat their spicy chicken. They ate their wonton soup. They ate their friend crispy whatever those things are that they bring.

Suddenly though, the hostess dumped a BUNCH of fortune cookies on our table. "Now see? They be happy," she said. Then she came back with more cookies.
"Wow, thanks!" We don't usually let them eat that much hyper processed crap, so thank you for dumping all of that hyper processed crap on the table. They'll be really happy if I stop them from eating all 29 fortune cookies. Thanks again!

I take my 3 year old to the bathroom. 1 year old comes as well. Huz pays for dinner. As my husband is leaving the owner of Lieu's, Peter, has the audacity to approach him and say, "see that guy looking at you over there? He didn't like how loud your kids were. He thought about saying something to you, but I am now." Hubby apologized. It's good I happened to be in the bathroom, because...well, wow. So many things. As we walked through the parking lot I realized he looked a little crest fallen. "What's up?"

"We're never going back there," he says. He explains the whole story about the owner confronting him.

I'm sorry I'm not a tiger mom. I'm sorry my kids are kids. Greenville is known as a family friendly place...a place where your kids are welcome, where people pull out a chair and show you that southern hospitality. Don't go to Lieu's if you want any of that.

We'll never be back, to Lieu's. Do 2 adults who love alcohol and 2 kids eat more than the dude complaining to the owner? I bet we do. Lieu's, Peter...you're going to find out because I will never grace your door again. Ever. MAYBE I will in my own mind to daydream about dumping all this MSG leftover crap food on your doorstep. I'll tell every person I can how horrible this feels. And I'll ALWAYS recommend any of your competitors over you. PF Chang's is right down the street, go there! Better food, better ambiance, better service, better everything. Or I recommend you just stay home and enjoy a dinner at your own table. Any online stir fry recipe will taste better than a mouthful of what they're serving up at Lieu's.
