The is proud (and excited) to announce three new programs and their Winter & Spring 2012 lineup. The START HERE Education Program, Railroad Concert Series and “theatre on the side” programs will begin in January 2012. The new programs will mark a big year for the Center which has just wrapped up updating its Auditorium space and will finish up its landscaping project within the next two weeks.
START HERE features over 15 classes in the arts for individuals of all ages, all for $100 or under. Classes range from five different guitar lessons to group social dance to Art Safari for Kids and much more. Classes are all taught by community artists. Registration opens December 1.

“Theatre on the Side” is the Mauldin Cultural Center's new Dinner Theatre Series. The series consists of three productions throughout the year, the first of which will be offered in the Spring of 2012. “Scooter Thomas Makes It To The Top Of The World” by Peter Parnell will open March 23 and run through March 25 in the Center's Auditorium. Performance-Only tickets are FREE to the public, while dinner tickets and VIP seats range from $10 - $20. Tickets are required for entry and are available December 1.
The Mauldin Cultural Center's executive director, George Patrick McLeer, says these new programs are crucial in helping create a cultural anchor for the Mauldin community. “If you look around, every city or town has a place for people to celebrate the arts, and their own community. Through these three new programs, our organization will create a warm, inviting and creative atmosphere for the citizens of Mauldin, and the entire Upstate, to enjoy and experience the arts.” The programs come on the heels of a very busy 2011 for the Center which has hosted over 20,000 individuals this past year. “As we've grown, physically and through our current programs, we've seen a large increase of interest from the community, as well as support.”

The Center will accept donations at all events to help offset the cost of offering performances for free and to keep classes at a max of $100/person. They are also looking for business partners to play a role in helping bring great entertainment to the community.
