Mauldin Cultural Center Hosts Contra Dance Friday Night
Lessons for beginners start at 7:30 p.m. and the full dance begins at 8.

The ο»ΏMauldin Cultural Centerο»Ώ will host a Contra Dance on Friday, June 14 from 8pm-11pm. Β Featuring the well-known contra band, Contraforce, this event is perfect for beginners and experts alike. Β
Lessons for beginners start at 7:30pm and the full dance begins at 8pm.
Cost is $8 per person at the door (cash) and is open to all ages.
Contra dancing is a historical folk line dance rooted in Appalachian culture and features folk rhythms and instruments. The dance's βcallerβ directs the crowd and calls out various contra dance moves. This type of line dance has made its way back to popularity all throughout South Carolina, North Carolina and Georgia.
The MCC is located at 101 E. Butler Road.
