Mauldin High NJROTC to Hold First Year Orientation

The Mauldin NJROTC "Maverick Navy" will hold its annual Freshman/First Year Student Orientation Aug. 6-8 from 8:30 a.m. 2 p.m. in the unit spaces (Room D132) at the high school.  

This event is designed to introduce the student to the basics of military drill and NJROTC knowledge.

The first two days of the orientation are dedicated to basic knowledge, drill and uniforms. You are asked to bring sack lunches and drinks for these days; shorts and t-shirts are ok. The third day will consist of physical training and team games which will require that all cadets wear gym clothes.

Lunch will be provided on the third day once the games are complete.

While not mandatory for the student to be inducted into the NJROTC unit, this three day event is highly encouraged to help ensure that the student has a clear understanding of what the program is all about before school starts.
