Mauldin High Student Arrested with Knife
Unidentified student found with knife on school grounds, and also charged with assault and battery.

Mauldin Police arrested a 17-year-old Mauldin High School student on Monday for having a knife on school grounds.
The weapon was described as a Smith & Wesson S.W.A.T. pocket knife with a four-inch blade. In addition to the weapon charge, the student also was charged with third-degree assault and battery, and disturbing a school, the Greenville News reported.
An incident report said the knife was a gift from the boy's father. The report also stated that the student had gotten into an altercation at the school and carried the weapon because he feared for his well-being.
