Mauldin Police Investigate Alleged Rape, Kidnapping

A Mauldin woman reported she was raped late last week by a long-time acquaintance who has sexually assaulted her for years, according to a Mauldin Police incident report.

Police are investigating the alleged incident, which reportedly took place this past Friday in the suspect's pickup truck in an area off Forrester Drive. The subject has been identified, but so far no arrest has been made.

The alleged victim reported she was returning home late Friday night after work to her North Main Street apartment when the suspect drove up and forced her into his truck and then drove her to a secluded area off Forrester Drive, where the alleged incident took place. 

The victim also stated that the suspect threatened to kill her if she told anyone, according to the incident report, which noted bruises to the female's right arm and side.

"The victim advised this has been occurring since she was at the age of 9," according to the report, which did not give the alleged victim's age. "She stated this occurred on a daily basis when she lived in the house with him in Florida and her mother was aware of it." The victim also stated that the suspect traveled and continued to force her into sex with him "every couple of months" after she had moved out.

The report stated that the alleged victim had made a police complaint once before after a forced encounter in Travelers Rest, but she withdrew the complaint after allegedly being threatened by another unidentified person. The victim also stated that, out of fear, she also had been coerced into having sex with the suspect as recently as July.
