More Secret Santas Surface at Area Stores

After a report surfaced last week that a "layaway angel" had paid off several layaway balances for local shoppers, the idea seems to be spreading.

FOX Carolina reported that more secret Santas have hit local stores. 
Grandmother Barbara Gibbs said, "I felt like I won the lottery or something," after someone paid off the layaway balance on toys for her grandson at the Kmart in Mauldin. 

"They said a Secret Santa just come in and paid your layaway off. I said, 'What? Are you serious?' I was so excited," Gibbs told the station.

The kindness shown to total strangers has had a profound effect, said Kmart store associate Brett Cannon.

"I've had two people cry over the phone," Cannon told the station. "I've seen people cry at the register.  They are just so thankful for all of this. All of the goodness that people bring them."
