60 and Counting: Patch Launches Primary Countdown

The roadsides are not yet littered with political signs.

The airwaves are not crowded with candidate speech.

And you may be able to get through dinner without a robocall.

But it's just a matter of time.

The South Carolina Republican primary is just 60 days away (Jan. 21), and we want to help get you prepared.

So beginning this morning, we're launching daily coverage of the issues and people that have made the Palmetto State primary so important for the past 32 years — and will do so this year.

Each Sunday, we'll prepare you for the week ahead, telling you which candidates will be in your area and where the major news in the race is expected to take place.

On Monday, we'll deliver a candidate- or issue-based story to help you understand how the race is shaping up.

Each Tuesday, we'll have a look back at a previous primary in the streak — beginning with .

Each Wednesday, we'll have a profile of a South Carolinian who's making an impact on this year's election. That begins tomorrow with Matt Moore, executive director of the SCGOP.

Each Thursday, we'll share the results of our weekly Power Outsiders poll, which is a collaboration between Patch and Huffington Post.

On Friday, we'll introduce you to one of your neighbors and hear their thoughts on the upcoming election and state of our community, state and nation.

And on Saturday, we'll wrap up the week that was in the Republican race.
