School News & Notes: Mauldin High School
Mauldin High welcomes new staff, and highlights upcoming meetings and events.

Mauldin High welcomes three new staff members — assistant principals Chris Kilian and Brad Griffith, and counselor Elizabeth House, the school announced.
Assistant Principal Brad Griffith comes to MHS from J.L. Mann High, where he was an administrator for four years. Prior to that Griffith served as an administrator at Woodmont High for five years.
Griffith earned both his B.S. (Mathematics) and Masters in Education from Clemson University. He began his career as a math teacher (6 years). In his free time, Griffith plays the piano and sings with the Greenville Chorale. In February 2012, he married his wife, Sara.
Assistant Principal Chris Kilian spent the last eight years in Florida as a high school administrator and moved to Greenville in July with his wife and three children. His wife grew up in Chesterfield and attended Winthrop.
Killian said he is excited to be at Mauldin High School and looks forward to raising his family in the Greenville area.
New MHS counselor Elizabeth House said: “I grew up in Belton on a cattle farm, where I developed a love for being outdoors and being active. I attended school in Greenville County, where I was recruited to play softball at Limestone College as a pitcher for the Lady Saints. During my collegiate career I had the opportunity to travel abroad as a student-athlete and play softball throughout Europe.
"After earning my BA in Psychology, I completed my Masters in Guidance at University of West Alabama and have been working in the school system over the past four years. I married my college sweetheart, Mitch, and we have an energetic and beautiful three year old daughter, Riley. During football season our family, including our pug, Patsy, will be wearing orange to support my Clemson Tigers — but during basketball season we switch to my husband’s Tar Heel blue.
"Aside for my love of softball (and sports in general), I also serve on the Miss South Carolina Scholarship recruitment organization where I work with young ladies in preparation for interviews, public speaking events, and various areas of pageantry. Coming to Mauldin High School has been an absolute blessing, I couldn’t be happier with the cohesive & supportive environment,” House said.
