Registration is going on for a number of sports locally. Here's a quick roundup:

Football
Signups for Mauldin recreation youth football (ages 6-12) continues through July 27. The fee is $75 for residents and $90 for non-residents. resister online at mauldinrecreation.com or at the Mauldin Sports Center.

The Carolina Wildcats seek players from 12-19 for an independent high school team. Players cannot be 19 before Aug. 1. There is a nominal fee to play but all pads, helmets, and uniforms and practice wear will be provided. If you're interested, send email to saint0073@yahoo.com or jknight@oretechinc.com.

Basketball

Baseball
Registration will be held for Mauldin fall recreation league July 30 through Aug. 5. for players entering second through seventh grade. Register online at mauldinrecreation.com or at the Mauldin Sports Center.

A 10U travel team in the SImpsonville that plays local tournaments seeks two players. Contact Michael at 864-551-3619 or email mcausey5@live.com to schedule a tryout.

Softball
Registration for Greenville Rec adult fall league is underway for men's open, men's church, coed open, and coed church divisions. Leagues begin in mid-August. Fee is $325 per team. Email richd@gcrd.org or call 676-2180 to register.

Tennis
The Greenville-Spartanburg Interurban Tennis Association Children's summer clinic for ages 7-14 will be held at the Kroc Center Tennis Complex on July 28 from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Free lessons for children of multicultural backgrounds. For more info, call 297-9060 or 325-4997.
