Two Women, Victims Sought in Tax Preparation Scam

The Mauldin Police Department is looking for Kayla Raines and Donna Raines.

The Mauldin Police Department is searching for two Mauldin women who have been charged with forgery and breach of trust through their tax preparation service.

Kayla Raines, 28, and Donna Raines, 57, both Mauldin residents and the owners of in Mauldin, are accused of forging customers' names on IRS documents and breach of trust is excess of $5,000, according to warrants.

A search warrant was conducted on the business Friday and all business related materials were seized, according to a news release from Mauldin Police Department.

In addition to the two women, Mauldin Police are searching for anyone who did business with Quality Bookkeeping and feels that they may also be a victim. Those are encouraged to contact Det. Brian Wright of the Mauldin Police Department at (864) 289-8900.
