• Earthquake hits part of South Carolina where seismic activity isn't regular (thestate.com) — Residents in and around McCormick may have slept through a small 1.9-magnitude earthquake early Thursday near the Georgia line and Strom Thurmond Lake, but it adds to a growing list of recent South Carolina tremors. Officials say no damage or injuries were reported, and they note McCormick County last saw a stronger 4.1-magnitude quake back in 2014.
