• Orangeburg County father charged after 1-year-old son seriously injured, sister found in ‘deplorable conditions' (wistv.com) — A 25-year-old Orangeburg County father is jailed on charges of child neglect and placing a child at risk after his 1-year-old son suffered severe, potentially disabling injuries. Deputies say a search of his Mannlicher Drive home uncovered deplorable living conditions, including no utilities and an insect infestation, and found his adult sister with Down syndrome lying in a bed soiled with maggots and rotten food.
