Vote held on industrial growth project next to Greenville Pickens Speedway (greenvilleonline.com) — Pickens County’s Planning Commission has voted 6–1 to deny a major industrial phase of the Speedway Multi-Use Park next to the former Greenville-Pickens Speedway along Highway 123 in Easley. After a packed meeting in Pickens with many residents speaking against the project, commissioners rejected the developers’ request, keeping that stretch near the speedway free of the proposed phase 5 industrial expansion for now.
