Black Keys, Flaming Lips Will Rock Charter Amphitheatre

Two titans of rock will play double bill together in Simpsonville this July.

One of the state's biggest outdoor concerts will take place in Simpsonville this summer.

On July 12, rock-n-roll heavyweights, The Black Keys, along with special guest, The Flaming Lips, will grace the stage at Charter Amphitheatre, GoUpstate.com reported.

Tickets for the concert will go on sale at 10 a.m. on Feb 15 at all Ticketmaster locations, ticketmaster.com, or by calling 800-745-3000. Ticket prices ar $54.50 and $39.50

The Black Keys have been nominated for five Grammy Awards, which will be presented Sunday night. The Ohio-based duo will vie for “Album of the Year,” “Record of the Year,” “Best Rock Performance,” “Best Rock Song” and “Best Rock Album.” 

The band's latest album, "El Camino," was recently certified RIAA Platinum. In 2010, the bluesy rock group won three Grammy Awards for their breakout album, "Brothers."

Opening act, The Flaming Lips, are legendary for their often elaborate and spectacular stage shows, led by erstwhile frontman Wayne Coyne.
