A rape suspect wanted in California was captured Thursday by Greenville County Sheriff's deputies.
Charles James, of Lancaster, Calif., was taken into custody by deputies at a residence on Emile Street, just west of Greenville, WYFF reported.
According to reports, James was wanted on five felony charges by the Los Angeles Sheriff's Department in connection to the alleged sexual assault of a 14-year-old girl on Dec. 13 as the teen walked to school.
Authorities in California allege that James repeatedly raped the teen before running away. It was unclear, from news reports, why James was in the Greenville area.
