Coroner: Child's Shooting Death Accidental

Greenville County Deputy Coroner Jeff Fowler has ruled Friday night's shooting death of a three-year-old child accidental.

The child was identified as Tmorej Smith. Following a Saturday morning autopsy, Fowler ruled the child died from a single, accidental gunshot to the head.

The shooting occurred around 7:45 p.m. Friday at the Plantations at Haywood apartment complex on Haywood Road. 

So far, authorities have not indicated if someone shot the child, or if the wound was self-inflicted. There is no one in custody at this time, but an investigation of the shooting continues.
