Driver Crashes Into Simpsonville Target Store

No fatalities, but driver was taken to local hospital for unspecified injuries.

A driver of a Chevy SUV crashed into the front entrance of the Simpsonville Target store late Thursday afternoon, according to SC Highway Trooper Billy Elder.

The crash occurred around 4:15 p.m. at the store, located at 694 Fairview Road.

No fatalities were reported, but driver Michael Armstrong, 55, of Simpsonville was reportedly injured in the crash and transported by ambulance to Greenville Memorial Hospital, Elder said.

Despite a posting on Twitter from someone who believed the man may have suffered a possible seizure before the crash, an official cause of the crash and other details of the incident were not available from the SCHP Thursday night.

The accident remains under investigation, Elder said.
