Holy Cross Episcopal Pumpkin Patch Set to Open
The church's patch along South Main Street opens for business Oct. 1.

Holy Cross Episcopal Church will kick off its 7th Annual Pumpkin Patch sales at their pumpkin patch located along South Main Street in downtown Simpsonville.
Starting Monday Oct. 1, the Holy Cross patch is open Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. until 8 p.m., Saturday from 9 a.m. until 8 p.m. and on Sunday from 12 noon until 6 p.m. Cash and checks are accepted. Pumpkins and gourds and will be sold through the end of October, as supplies last.
This is no ordinary pumpkin patch, as these pumpkins are sold so that the church can raise much needed funds to support its local outreach ministry efforts, the church said. The pumpkins were brought in via a tractor trailer and were grown on an Indian reservation in New Mexico.
A large portion of the proceeds are donated to the Habitat for Humanity Golden Strip Church Coalition, which is a collaboration of Golden Strip area churches who work together to provide supplies and labor for their annual Spring Habitat build. The remaining funds are donated to family-oriented organizations including the Center for Community Services, Little Steps, Safe Harbor, Kairos Outside, St. Francis Hispanic Ministry, York Place Episcopal Church Home for Children, and Michael’s Way.
The patch is staffed by church members and is an all volunteer effort.
