Obituary: Bob Harrison of Simpsonville

Robert Edward Harrison, Sr., 83, husband of Gail Lilly Harrison, died Monday afternoon, February 4, 2013.

Born in Hopewell, VA, he was a son of the late John Dawson Harrison, Sr., and Lena Bailey Harrison.

Mr. Harrison graduated from Hopewell High School in 1946 and went on to graduate from Bob Jones University with a B.A. in Bible and a certificate in teaching. He remained on staff as the University Host and Director of Public Relations from 1955 to 1983. He then opened Bob Harrison's Films and Videos, which became Faith Videos. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and servant of the Lord.

In addition to his wife Gail, Bob is survived by his sons, Robert E. Harrison, Jr. of Pennsylvania and Ronald E. Harrison of California; three grandsons, Bobby, Ryan and Jay; two granddaughters, Claire and Lauren; and extended family and friends.

The Funeral Service will be Friday, February 8, at 1:00p.m. at Calvary Baptist Church in Simpsonville with Dr. Bob Jones, III, Pastor Dean Taylor and Pastor Jerry Barron officiating. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Thursday from 5 to 8p.m. at The Mackey Mortuary.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Calvary Baptist Church Building Fund, 3810 Grandview Dr., Simpsonville, SC 29680.
