Race to Rescue 5K

Mt Zion Church announces the first Race to Rescue 5K on March 22, 2014 starting at the church’s campus on Garlington Road. All proceeds will benefit The A21 Campaign, a 501c3 non-profit that exists to abolish injustice in the 21st century through a comprehensive system of preventative measures, victim protection, prosecution of violators, and strategic partnerships.

More people are enslaved in the world today—an estimated 27 million—than at any point in history, and 1.4 million of those are sex slaves. Human trafficking is one of the fastest growing crimes in the world today.

“We believe the only way to end modern-day slavery and sex trafficking is for communities to come together, united against the evil that allows it,” said Monique Law, director of the RISE women’s ministry at Mt Zion Church. “This 5K is one small step to raise awareness among locals and hopefully grow the base of 21st century abolitionists here in Greenville.”
