Save the Date: South Greenville Fair
An old, annual favorite returns to Simpsonville for its 54th year on Sept. 15.

Next weekend, fresh on the heels of the , and the Upper S.C. State Fair, comes an old favorite.
Back for its 54th year, the annual South Greenville Fair will take place on Saturday, Sept. 15 in downtown Simpsonville.
Sponsored by the Greenville County Farm Bureau, the free, one-day-only fair will commence at 8:30 a.m. at Simpsonville City Park at 100 Park Drive.
Unlike modern fairs, the South Greenville Fair harkens back to fairs of yore. Instead of rides and a Midway, this fair pays homage to the area's agrarian past, with a heavy emphasis on farm animals, flowers, agriculture, and arts & crafts, according to event organizers.
In addition to music, food, and fun, the fair will feature a flower show, an art show, petting zoo, exhibitions of farm animals (among them horses, goats, chickens, rabbits, and cattle), an engine and tractor show (including a downtown tractor parade), and the crowning of the 2012 South Greenville Fair Queen.
The current schedule:
- 8:30 a.m. Fair opens
- 8:30 a.m. Enter Chickens & Pets
- 9 a.m. Goat Show
- 10 a.m. Dairy Cattle Show
- 11:30 a.m. Beef Cattle Show
