Simpsonville's Willingham Awarded Scholarship

Madison Willingham of Simpsonville has been awarded a scholarship at Denison University, the university announced.

Willingham, a member of the class of 2016, received the Denison Founders Scholarship, which recognizes academic achievement, leadership and personal merit.

The scholarship is an annual $20,000 award, or approximately half of tuition, according to a university Web site.

Denison University, founded in 1831, is an independent, residential liberal arts institution located in Granville, Ohio. The school has an enrollment of around 2,100 full-time undergraduate students from all 50 states and dozens of foreign countries.
