Simpsonville Student to Perform in Musical Showcase
Pianist Audrey Jones of Simpsonville will join a handful of other Carson-Newman students in an upcoming showcase before the Steinway Society of Knoxville.
A college student and pianist from Simpsonville will get an opportunity next week along with a few select others to showcase her musical talent.
Carson-Newman University sophomore Audrey Jones of Simpsonville will join a handful of other students in a showcase at the Steinway Society of Knoxville, the school announced.
Jones and her cohorts will perform works by many composers, including Schubert, Brahms and Rachmaninoff.
The Carson-Newman Student Showcase will take place Sunday, February 10, at 3 p.m. The event will be held at Knoxville’s American Piano Gallery.
The C-N music department currently has 10 full-time faculty and approximately 85 music majors. Music majors may earn Bachelor of Music degrees in performance, church music, music education, music theory, or music with an outside field.
The students featured are the piano students of Drs. Ryan Fogg and Mark Hussung.
Located in Jefferson City, Tenn., Carson-Newman is a private, four-year, Christian, coeducational liberal arts university of approximately 2,000 students.
