SLED: Seven Sex Offenders Reside Near Monarch Elementary School
SLED requires all convicted sex offenders residing in SC to publicly register their address with the state. Seven of them live near Monarch Elementary.
At least seven convicted sex offenders live within a two-mile radius of Monarch Elementary School, according to a database maintained by the S.C. Law Enforcement Division.
Of the seven offenders, six were convicted of sex crimes against children. The crime of the seventh offender, who committed his crime in New York state, does not specify the age of the victim, according to the database.
Like other states, South Carolina requires that convicted sex offenders register their addresses anytime they move. According to SLED's database, the seven offenders live at the following addresses:
