Woman Dead in Simpsonville Car Crash

Accident happened around 3:30 a.m. this morning on West Georgia Road.

A Piedmont woman has died in an early morning single-vehicle crash in Simpsonville, troopers said.

The unidentified woman, who would have turned 52 on Sunday, was driving West Georgia Road near Reedy Fork Road around 3:30 a.m. when she lost control of her 1997 Infiniti.

The car went off the right side of the road. The woman then overcorrected, causing her car to flip several times before it hit a ditch, troopers said.

Greenville County Coroner Jeff Fowler said the woman, who was not wearing a seat belt, was ejected from the vehicle and died at the scene, WSPA reported.
