• Greenville moves forward with penny tax measure: City Council notes (greenvillejournal.com) — Greenville is moving ahead with a November referendum on a new 1% local sales tax that would fund road, sewer, stormwater, and public safety projects while cutting property taxes, including improvements along Wade Hampton Boulevard used heavily by Taylors residents. If both city and county penny taxes pass, shoppers inside Greenville could see a two-cent-per-dollar increase on many purchases, so officials are urging residents to study the project list and give feedback.
