• US Forest Service announces reopening date for Virginia Creeper Trail (wjhl.com) — If you love using the Virginia Creeper Trail from Abingdon, your local section is already open, but the hurricane-damaged stretch toward White Mountain won’t fully reopen until March 31, 2027. The Forest Service says the delay lets repairs settle safely over winter. A major federal contract is funding the rebuild of the 17-mile destroyed portion near Damascus.
