• Athens city attorney pleads guilty to forgery, resigns position (dailypostathenian.com) — Athens’ former city attorney has resigned and pleaded guilty to a felony forgery charge tied to a 2023 quitclaim deed, with sentencing set for November. City residents can expect the council to select new legal representation while the court decides whether to approve a suspended one-year sentence and judicial diversion for the former attorney.
   

• DENSO Expands Solar Energy Operations (aftermarketnews.com) — A large new solar facility at DENSO Manufacturing Athens Tennessee is now generating power on the north side of the plant, expected to offset nearly 14% of the factory’s electricity use. Supported by the Athens Utilities Board and TVA, the project brings over 10,000 solar modules to town and underscores DENSO’s long-term commitment to sustainability in the Athens community.
   

• Winford Donaldson (chattanoogan.com) — Family and friends in the Athens–Decatur area are mourning 94-year-old Winford Donaldson, a Korean War Marine veteran, farmer, photographer, and longtime ham radio enthusiast. While his burial will be private, those wishing to honor him are encouraged to donate to the McMinn Regional Humane Society on Jackson Street in Athens instead of sending flowers.
