• Johnston arrested with drugs, drug paraphernalia, weapon (thedunlap-tribune.com) — Dunlap police recently arrested a man after a brief foot chase, recovering a handgun, marijuana, and other suspected narcotics from his vehicle. Officers say he already faced assault-related warrants and now faces multiple new drug and weapons charges, with some matters proceeding in Dunlap City Court. Residents may notice heightened enforcement around Walnut Street and Old York Highway.
   

• Splash pad being readied for the season (thedunlap-tribune.com) — Families in Dunlap can look forward to Harris Park’s splash pad reopening around Wednesday, May 20, though the exact date may shift slightly. Mayor Dwain Land says parents’ supervision is expected so kids can play safely. A new playground at the park is also underway, with its debut targeted around July 4.
