• Waggin' Stock music festival to benefit local spay-neuter clinic (elizabethton.com) — Elizabethton pet lovers can support a planned low-cost spay/neuter clinic by attending the Waggin’ Stock music festival Oct. 9–10 at Evening Breeze Arena on Grindstaff Road. Each $15 evening of live music will raise money to reduce pet overpopulation, ease pressure on the Elizabethton-Carter County Animal Shelter, and make basic veterinary care more affordable for local families.
   

• Cyclones take care of Grainger on senior night (johnsoncitypress.com) — Elizabethton High’s Cyclones gave local fans plenty to cheer about on senior night, rolling past Grainger 38–7 at Citizens Bank Stadium. Senior quarterback Peyton Lingerfelt and receiver Braylon Britt led a balanced offensive attack, while the Cyclone defense forced three interceptions heading into a well-timed bye week.
