• Unicoi LTR hosts emergency preparedness event on Helene anniversary (wjhl.com) — An emergency-preparedness fair at First Christian Church in Erwin brought local agencies together to hand out free disaster kits and radios while teaching families how to plan for future storms. Marking two years since Hurricane Helene, organizers stressed that Erwin residents still rebuilding can save time and stress by knowing where to go for help and how to pack go-bags.
   

• Impact Plastics among Unicoi industrial businesses pushing to rebuild two years later (wcyb.com) — Two years after Helene's flooding, Unicoi County Industrial Park businesses, including Impact Plastics, are steadily rebuilding and rehiring, with about 60% of pre-storm jobs restored. Local leaders say companies chose to reinvest in Erwin and Unicoi County because they trust the workforce and community, and projections suggest more jobs than before by 2030.
