The night of the incident, the 63-year-old woman was leaving Lipscomb Academy, where she works, in her blue 2003 Hyundai Sonata when she stopped on the university campus to text a family member around 11 p.m.
While she was texting, one of the suspects tapped on her driver side window with a handgun, telling her to get out of the car, she told police.

As she reached for her purse prior to exiting the vehicle, a second suspect appeared on the passenger side and told her “you’re not taking that.” She got out of the car and noticed a third suspect nearby when the gunman told her to run. She called police from a nearby residence while suspects fled in her Sonata, which, with information provided by Williams, was recovered from a West End parking lot Wednesday.
