On the job and in the classroom (tnledger.com) — Knoxville's new Skilled Trades Academy Regional Training (START) Center, launched with Knox County Schools and modeled on Nashville's long-running program, is quickly building a pipeline of paid apprenticeships in electrical, HVAC and welding. Local students work by day, train evenings and earn portable NCCER credentials, with instructors and contractors describing how the Knoxville site is already producing its first graduating classes and expanding employer partnerships.
   

2. President Trump to attend Tennessee-Texas game in Knoxville (ktsm.com) — President Donald Trump is expected in Knoxville this weekend for the Tennessee-Texas game at Neyland Stadium, adding extra security and traffic pressure around campus. State transportation officials are already planning added HELP and Rural Service Patrol trucks on Knoxville interstates to manage congestion tied to the game, ESPN College GameDay, and a Thursday Ella Langley concert. Kickoff is set for noon Saturday, September 26.

TN Lottery Cash 3 Morning, Cash 3 Midday winning numbers for Sept. 24, 2026 (knoxnews.com) — Knoxville lottery players can now check the Sept. 24 Cash 3, Cash 4, Daily Tennessee Jackpot, and Millionaire for Life winning numbers and see if they've hit a prize. Winners over $599 can redeem tickets by mail or in person, including at the Knoxville District Office on Kingston Pike, which cashes prizes up to $199,999 on weekdays.
