• MPD: Rideshare driver arrested for aggravated kidnapping, assaulting woman (actionnews5.com) — Memphis police say a rideshare driver kidnapped a woman at gunpoint after picking her up near Chelsea Avenue and University Street, demanding sexual acts before she escaped near Bethel Road. The suspect, Marlon Jackson, was arrested at the scene while she reported the incident and is being held on a $100,000 bond with a court appearance set for August 20.
   

• Wolf River Greenway expansion seeing progress (actionnews5.com) — Work is moving ahead on expanding the Wolf River Greenway through Memphis, ultimately growing the trail from 16 to 26 miles and linking parts of the city with Germantown and Collierville. Backed by a public‑private partnership with Memphis Parks and Shelby County, organizers hope every Memphian will gain easier access to green space and the river's natural heritage.
