Nashville St. Jude Rock 'N' Roll Marathon: Road Closures Set, Start Times Change

More than 30,000 runners are expected in Nashville for Saturday's marathon.

NASHVILLE, TN — More than 30,000 runners are expected to participate in the 2017 edition of the St. Jude Rock 'n' Roll Marathon in Nashville Saturday, April 29, and they'll be starting a half hour earlier than expected.

Organizers have reset start times for Saturday's events due to forecast high temperatures close to 90 degrees. The 5K will now begin at 6:15, the wheelchair race at 6:43 and the full and half marathon at 6:45 a.m. Metro Police urge people to arrive early as road closures will begin early Saturday morning.

Security preparations will begin late Friday night and Metro Police ask drivers to mind the bagged parking meters and other no-parking indicators as cars will be towed beginning at midnight. The entire marathon route will close at 5:45 a.m., though portions near the start on Lower Broadway will close at 3:45.

A full list of road closures is here and the marathon has provided access tips for the neighborhoods — East Nashville, Downtown, Belmont and 12South, MetroCenter, The Gulch, and Music Row — most affected by the race.

People who want to park in The Pinnacle garage should arrive by 5:30 a.m. and to park in the Music City Center garage, drivers should use the Korean Veterans Boulevard side.
