1. Gallatin Corridor Makeover Coming This Winter (nashvillescene.com) — East Nashville's Main Street and Gallatin Pike are set for a major pedestrian-focused safety overhaul starting this winter, bringing new lighting, crosswalks, resurfacing, and turn restrictions through spring 2027. The Vision Zero-backed project targets one of Nashville's deadliest corridors for walkers, with more than $10 million also planned for additional improvements farther up Gallatin toward Madison. 
2. Metro Council to vote on settling lawsuit against Kia, Hyundai for over $700K (wsmv.com) — Metro Nashville leaders are set to vote on a proposed settlement that would bring the city about $747,000 after legal fees from Kia and Hyundai over widespread vehicle thefts. The lawsuit claims the companies' lack of theft-prevention technology drove a huge spike in stolen cars and extra police costs. The council's decision will determine how this money offsets Metro's expenses.
3. $300K renovation underway at North Nashville's Elizabeth Senior Center (newschannel5.com) — North Nashville's Elizabeth Senior Center is getting a $300,000 renovation, updating everything from restrooms and kitchen space to flooring and a new computer lab for local seniors. The only Metro Parks facility dedicated exclusively to older adults, it's expected to reopen with improved spaces by early December, helping longtime users stay active, social, and connected to community resources.
4. Nashville drivers react as 'no right on red' proposal gets scaled back (fox17.com) — Nashville leaders are advancing a scaled-back "no right on red" plan that would initially restrict turns at 59 high-pedestrian intersections, mostly downtown and near schools, parks, and hospitals. NDOT would have three months to post signs and then study more locations, potentially expanding restrictions that could affect both traffic flow and pedestrian safety across the city.
5. NDOT proposes reopening lower levels of fire-damaged Nashville Main Library garage (wkrn.com) — Access to downtown's Main Library could soon get easier as Nashville transportation officials propose reopening the first four levels of the fire-damaged parking garage, restoring about 450 spaces once safety reviews are complete. Upper levels would stay closed while Metro finalizes a long-term reconstruction plan, and nearby discounted parking and transit remain options in the meantime.
