• Deanna May Gochenour (scnoneida.net) — Family and friends in Oneida are mourning Deanna May Gochenour, 86, whose son and special extended family live here and cared for her through repeated stays at Oneida Nursing Home & Rehab. A lifelong Christian, artist, and retired federal employee, she chose cremation, with a Celebration of Life to be announced later.
   

• South-Doyle Senior Night more than the canceled game (knoxtntoday.com) — Oneida High School’s boys soccer team saw its non-district match at South-Doyle halted and ultimately canceled after repeated lightning delays, but coach David Blevins still praised his players’ growth and defensive effort. The Indians, now 5-4-2 and unbeaten in District 2-A play, face key upcoming matches against Rockwood and Eagleton that will shape their postseason hopes.
   

• Blakley's Life One of Service (scnoneida.net) — Longtime educator and veteran Arvis Blakley, who recently died at 96, devoted more than five decades to Scott County schools and the Oneida Special School District. He also led the Tennessee Technology Center for over 30 years, leaving a legacy honored by the Huntsville TCAT campus that now bears his name and continues serving local students and workers.
