• Fire Prevention Week: 'Safe Charging is a Super Power' (wdef.com) — Signal Mountain's fire department is using Fire Prevention Week to warn residents about the fire risks of charging phones and other lithium-ion devices, especially in bed or under pillows. Engineer Etta Schafer urges people to use manufacturer-approved chargers, avoid overnight charging near where they sleep, check batteries for damage, and have a clear escape plan if smoke alarms sound. 
• FRA's Walker Webb repeats as TSSAA golf state champ; CAK, Summertown claim team titles (commercialappeal.com) — Signal Mountain's boys golf team has captured its second straight Class A state championship, keeping the town on Tennessee's high school sports map. The tournament in Sevierville also saw Summertown's girls and several Knoxville-area schools claim titles, wrapping up the TSSAA season for Class A and Division II-A programs.
• Coffee and pet care: See the business licenses issued in Hamilton County last week (timesfreepress.com) — A new construction business, Coee Construction on Virginia Pine Road, is among the latest batch of Hamilton County business licenses that includes several Chattanooga, Ooltewah, Hixson, Harrison, and Soddy-Daisy ventures. For Signal Mountain residents, it's another local option for building and home projects as small enterprises continue to grow across the county.
