• 4th Annual Halloween Eekstravaganza In Soddy-Daisy Oct. 24 (chattanoogan.com) — Families in Soddy-Daisy can mark their calendars for the 4th Annual Halloween EEKstravaganza at Soddy Municipal Park on Saturday, Oct. 24, from 2–7 p.m. Expect costume and pie contests, live music, food trucks, vendors, kids' games, and a big Trunk or Treat, with several activities requiring free advance registration and volunteers still needed to help run the event. 
• The Tennessee River Rescue Returns This Saturday, October 3rd! (hits96.com) — Soddy-Daisy residents can join thousands of volunteers this Saturday, Oct. 3, for the Tennessee River Rescue, with cleanup sites available in Soddy-Daisy and nearby communities. Most shifts run from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., and participants are encouraged to wear clothes they can get dirty, bring water and snacks, and register in advance at TennesseeRiverRescue.org.
