1. Better Together Jewish Singles Over 50 have exciting fall lineup (jhvonline.com) — Jewish singles over 50 in Bellaire have several chances to connect this fall, including a rescheduled Shabbat in the Park with Mango Punch at Party at the Pavilion on Oct. 23. After rain canceled the earlier Bellaire gathering, the group regrouped at Jax Grill in Bellaire and is now promoting its big Rockin' '60s and '70s dinner-and-show night plus Chanukah and December Shabbat events.

2. 8 fall festivals and pumpkin patches in Houston this October (communityimpact.com) — Bellaire families have two big October outings to mark: the city's free Great Pumpkin Hunt on October 29 at S. Rice Avenue, and the Nature Discovery Center's pumpkin patch and fall festival October 17–18 at Russ Pitman Park. Both events promise costumes, games, photo ops, and plenty of pumpkins, alongside other nearby Halloween fun in West University Place and Houston.

3. Nature Discovery Center breaks ground on new play space (communityimpact.com) — Families in Bellaire can look forward to a transformed play space at Russ Pitman Park, where the Nature Discovery Center has just broken ground on its Enchanted Woods Nature Play Space and Cottage Classroom. The project, already 88% funded, will add imaginative zones like Imagination Meadow and Discovery Creek, expanding hands-on outdoor learning that city leaders say helps attract new residents.

4. Crime victims can wait years for U visas. What happens when key witnesses face deportation? (click2houston.com) — A recent shooting witness at the Bellaire Home Depot parking lot is at the center of a broader look at how slow, uncertain U visas can affect key crime witnesses in Harris County. Prosecutors explain why they likely won't certify his visa, and how shifting federal policies under different presidents are complicating efforts to keep undocumented victims and witnesses available to testify in serious cases.

5. 14 Houston-area restaurants added to 2026 Michelin Guide (houstonpublicmedia.org) — Bellaire food lovers can celebrate Blood Bros BBQ on Bellaire Boulevard being named to Michelin's 2026 Bib Gourmand list, highlighting great food at good value.
