• Conroe group raising money for statue honoring the Wilkersons (yourconroenews.com) — A local committee is raising money for life-size statues of longtime Conroe physician and GOP leader Dr. Walter "Wally" Wilkerson and his wife, Neddie Jane, to be installed in downtown Conroe's Founders Plaza. Working with nonprofit Conroe Live, organizers are inviting residents to donate toward honoring the couple's decades of civic, medical, and community service across Conroe and Montgomery County.

• Texas H-2B worker approvals reach 19,083 in fiscal 2026 through June 30, 2026 (businessdailynetwork.com) — Texas employers, including BDG Trees Conroe TX, have used the H-2B visa program heavily this fiscal year, with more than 19,000 worker approvals statewide.
