Over 800 traffic stops on SH 361 since safety initiative began (caller.com subscription) — Drivers between Corpus Christi and Port Aransas are seeing stepped-up enforcement on SH 361, with more than 800 traffic stops since Aug. 23 and a new 50 mph limit near Beach Access Road 1A. After several fatal crashes, TxDOT is gathering public input on additional safety improvements and plans a town hall on Mustang Island, giving locals a chance to shape changes. 
2. PAAC expands free screwworm prevention effort for South Texas pets (kiiitv.com) — Corpus Christi pet owners can now get a free year of NexGard parasite prevention for eligible dogs and cats undergoing spay or neuter surgery at PAAC's local clinic, helping guard against dangerous New World screwworm. Through partnerships, PAAC has already distributed over 100,000 doses across South Texas, including thousands given directly at its Corpus Christi and Alice locations.
