Government Shutdown: How Has It Affected Texas

Texas ranked among the least affected states in the country.

DALLAS, TX -- With the U.S. government shutdown for the 21st time since 1976, the personal-finance website WalletHub released a report on the the states most and least affected. The organization compared the 50 states and the District of Columbia in terms of five metrics, ranging from each state’s share of federal jobs to federal contract dollars per capita to the share of families receiving food stamps, WalletHub stated.
