Texas Wesleyan Coach Snubs Colorado Recruit Over Pot Laws

"You can thank your liberal politicians," the university's head baseball coach wrote in the email to a recruit from Colorado.

FORT WORTH, TX — A Colorado high school student with dreams of playing baseball at Texas Wesleyan University was rejected over his home state's marijuana laws.

The university's head baseball coach, Mike Jeffcoat, allegedly sent the student a rejection via email, writing, "We have made a decision not to take a chance on Student-athletes from your state."

According to Jeffcoat's email, the decision was made after some former Wesleyan baseball players from Colorado "had trouble passing our drug test."
