
FORT WORTH, TX — Waverly Park Elementary School in west Fort Worth was given a "shelter in place" order Thursday afternoon after a possible threat was received, police said. That order has since been lifted.
Police said on Twitter the threat was considered illegitimate after a search was performed at the school.
Parents may pick up their children from the school, police said.

The Fort Worth Star-Telegram reported the school received a call around 12:30 p.m. from a person believed to be an adult woman. She threatened to harm students if the building was not evacuated.
A school official told the newspaper the district believes the call was fake.
